I’ve tried quite a few drugstore lipsticks but el.f. wasn’t one of them.
My usual purchases from e.l.f include brushes, contour and blush set as well as their lip balms and lip exfoliators so yeah, I have to admit that to me it’s a decent drugstore brand as I frequently purchase their products.
New to my list of e.l.f products is their liquid matte lipsticks. They come in eleven different shades and I purchased four of them online from Ulta.

First impression of the packaging was great with that sleek, frosty design that actually makes it look more higher end than it actually is. The doe foot applicator was great at holding on to enough product to fully cover your lips with one application while the tip helps you to get that clean, defined look.

How to Improve Your Experience
- Make sure your lips are exfoliated before application to avoid flaking and patchiness.
- Use a lip balm before application if you’re not used to wearing matte lipsticks
- Use a lip topper to offset the dryness that comes along with a liquid matte lipstick

For the price, these lipsticks are absolutely worth it. They make great starter liquid lipsticks that give almost the same finish as some of the more expensive brands like Kat Von D and Jeffree Star.
The colors pack a punch and they sit comfortably on the lips. Like with any matte lipsticks, there will be dryness. Even though these were a tad bit more drying I think it’s just a little drawback you have to deal with but once you prepare your lips the right way with exfoliation then you will reduce the chances of these flaking and feeling uncomfortable.
