I’ve tried quite a few drugstore lipsticks but el.f. wasn’t one of them.
My usual purchases from e.l.f include brushes, contour and blush set as well as their lip balms and lip exfoliators so yeah, I have to admit that to me it’s a decent drugstore brand as I frequently purchase their products.
New to my list of e.l.f products is their liquid matte lipsticks. They come in eleven different shades and I purchased four of them online from Ulta.
Like many, finding the right shade of nude lipstick is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Pretty much near impossible. At one point they even had us checking out or nipples for the right shade. That’s how serious this nude lipstick situation has become.
The cosmetics industry has come a long way when it comes to perfecting a nude shade that will compliment most skin tones. I’ve created a list of my favorite nude lipsticks that weren’t necessarily perfect but got pretty close.
We all know of those nude lipsticks that make us look like we just walked out the cemetery but the choices from this list did everything but that. Some may need a little bit more tweaking than others with some lip pencils but these worked out great for me.
I thought that there was no drugstore lipstick that could make me feel this way, but after trying these metallic lipsticks from NYX, I was like WHOA!

Back in the day when my coins were scarce, they’re still scarce now but back then they were a lot more scarce, NYX was one of my favorite makeup brands but somehow I got into the hype of trying other brands and I slowly forgot about them.
I tried that looking at your nipple thing to find your perfect nude shade and that didn’t do it for me so I’m back to doing things the old fashioned way.
Trying on a million and one nude lipstick until I find a winner.
I wish I had that super power of knowing if a nude lipstick would work for me without trying them first because as of late, I’ve been through several nude lipsticks that I purchased that I had to kick to the curb.
Not really! I’m not wasting my money like that.
You best believe that I will do everything in my power to make that nude lipstick that’s ten shades lighter than me work before I resort to throwing it out.
I finally got onboard the Colourpop train with my first purchase of the Ellarie and Colourpop collection. Obviously, I’m way late in the game when it comes to trying out Colourpop but better late than never.
I decided to go with this collection because not only is it Colourpop’s latest collaboration but shades and the price point were too hard to pass up.
I did notice how affordable Colourpop’s selection was, and with all the Youtubers raving over how amazing Coloupop is, it was only natural that I wanted to join in on the fun.Read More »
