The holidays is all about the glitter and shiny little things. M.A.C. cosmetics has dropped some blinged out lip colors that are definitely going to compliment your holiday outfit.
These were once a limited edition set but now they’re back again. The good news is that they are here to stay so you won’t ever miss out. There are seven reflective lip colors and two dazzle face highlighters.
The packaging on these lipsticks are everything. Once you see them you’ll be anxious to get your hands on them. Even if you don’t use them, they will be a fabulous set to prop up as part of your beauty room decor.
As mentioned in one of my previous posts, Zara just launched a new makeup collection that has got everyone excited, including me. So when you go shopping for clothes make sure to pick up a couple makeup items because Zara is starting to look like a one stop beauty shop and I’m living for it.
The collection was also hand picked by world talented makeup artist, Pat McGrath herself which made me want to try the collection even more. If I can get the same quality as Pat McGrath’s lipsticks for a more budget friendly price then I’m all in.
The collection features creamy bullet shaped matte lipsticks as well as liquid lipsticks and lip pencils.
I purchased two of the lip kits Behind the Scenes as well as the Ultimatte Trio which I will be reviewing at a later time.
The Zara Behind the Scenes Kit contains a lip liner L02, an Ultimatte Lipstick UM01 and a liquid lipstick in the shade M11.
The bundle came in a beautiful navy colored tin like can that was unique and high end looking. I like that this container can also be used to store other things down the road or for decorative purposes.
Zara’s brand is known for simplicity and I like that when it came to the packaging, the simplicity was reflected in that as well.
The lip products were all neatly packed inside a mold so they could not move around. Behind the container was more of a description about the lipsticks included as well as the ingredients, net weight and the shelf life which is unfortunately 6 months.
Everything was luxurious about the packaging including the lipstick containers. They were very soft to the touch almost like a high quality rubber which also allowed for easy gripping.
Zara Line It Up Lip Liner L02
This is a satin lip liner that is very soft and creamy.
The shade of the entire set is like a rosy brown nude color. At least that is how it swatched on my skin tone which I have to say complimented it really well.
Zara Ultimatte Lipstick UM01
What I love about the kit is that it eliminates the guess work. Everything in the kit worked well with each other. You can use the lip liner under both the lipstick as well as the liquid lipstick.
The lipstick container is soft to the touch with a magnetic lid that tightly snaps on so that your lipstick is secured and you don’t have to ever worry about your lid coming off.
The lipstick is of similar shade to the lip liner and has a candy smell to it.
I also did notice that there were little bits of condensation or water droplets on the lipsticks which could’ve probably come from the ingredients.
The color looked like it had a tad bit more pink to it but still gorgeous.
Zara Hi Matte Liquid Lipstick M11
The liquid lipstick did not have any scent at all compared to the delicious candy smell Ultimatte lipstick.
This one again is in the same color range.
I do have to say that this liquid lipstick was also very creamy and made the application easy. The doe foot applicator picked enough product to give you full coverage with one swipe but I did layer mine multiple times to get the full impact.
Overall the kit is very helpful especially for someone who is just getting into wearing lipsticks. There’s absolutely nothing to figure out about the kit because everything compliments each other.
What I also love about the kit is that the shade will be fitting to most skin tones. It’s a fun nude with a little pops of mauve and pink.
If you’re thinking about trying out Zara’s new makeup collection I highly recommend it. The quality is amazing and the price is unbeatable.
With the upcoming holidays, it’s been hard to keep up with all the new makeup that’s been dropping. The latest reveal is fro Colourpop. We have round two of Kathleen Lights and Colourpop collaboration with a Holiday 2018 collection.
The collection consists of lip bundles, both satin and matte, lip glosses and super shock eyeshadows.
Trendmood has got all the tea on the collection that’s dropping December 12th.
If you’re looking to try a variety of lipsticks before committing to a full size one then the Winky Lux Mini Lip Pill Kit is a great option.
The set comes in a beautifully packaged floral pink box with five of Winky Lux’s best selling lipsticks Meow, City, Royal, Heart and Pippy.
The net weight is .4g.
The set was purchased at Sephora for $16 which may be a bit steep for five little lipsticks that are a little more than half the size of my pinky finger.
I do have to say though that regardless of the size, these are some of the cutest lipsticks that I have ever seen.
Even though they are small, they definitely pack some pigment. Proof that great things come in small packages.
Don’t forget how travel friendly these little pill lipsticks are. They are so small that they can practically fit anywhere!
The formula of these lipsticks is different from a lot of the lipsticks that I’ve tried and trust me I’ve tried many lipsticks.
It’s creamy with a matte finish but at the same time it is not a drying matte. It sits very comfortably on the lips in the softest kind of way.
Even if you don’t want the set for yourself, it will make a great gift idea for a lipstick lover.
Nude pinks will always have a spot in my collection as they are always my back up plan for when everything else fails.
You can just never go wrong with a nude shade especially one that has a rosy finish.
This shade is a gorgeous nude brown color on my skin tone.
The two things that I love best about berries is wine and of course, lipstick. City is a sexy berry shade that is perfect for the fall and winter months.
Purple has always been a color associated with royalty and that is exactly what this shade exudes.
It’s not so much a deep purple nor is it an electric type purple. I’s jus the perfect shade that doesn’t make you look like you’re trying too hard.
We all know that shades of purple tend to be a universally flattering color so even if you’re a bit hesitant you should try it. You never know, you might end up buying the full size.
With all the amazing colors in this lip set, it would not be complete without a red shade. A good shade of red lipstick is a must have in every collection. I recently tried Pat McGrath’s Matte Trance in Elson and Stila’s Beso and they are amazing. This one from Winky Lux is great as well.
Red lipstick has always been and always will be a classic. It’s even better when it’s a comfortable and easy wear that does not smudge or budge.
Even if you’re not a frequent wearer of red lipstick, it’s always good to have on had for those special occasions so this little sample is perfect.
Though these lipsticks are minis, it is totally worth the cost because the quality is there. The rich pigment and the soft, velour formula is like none other. Grab it for yourself or gift it to someone. Either way it will be money well spent in my opinion.
Hey guys! As a way of showing appreciation for all my readers and followers I’m having a pretty awesome giveaway of the Bite Beauty Astrology lipsticks as well as a set of the mini Bouche Amuse Lipsticks.
If you have not had a chance to try out Fenty Beauty’s gloss bomb then now is the time. These universally flattering lip glosses are all the rave for the holidays and the latest shade Fu$$y is just gorgeous.
Trendmood recently did a side by side swatch of all the colors and they are looking juicy.
Glitter lips have definitely been one of this year’s trends and it’s even more popular as we near the holidays. It’s no secret that everyone wants to put their best glitter looks forward, from outfits to makeup at the holiday parties because everything is better with glitter and lips are no exception.
Ciaté London’s Limited Edition Holographic lipstick shades are a quick fix and budget friendly option for perfect glitter lips this season.
The set features two lipsticks with metallic formulation that will have you ready for party season. One of the lipsticks is their best selling shade Candy and the other is Infamous Holographic.
The instructions are quite simple. It calls for one coat of the lipstick that you are suppose to leave on for one minute to dry and then press lips together until you get your desired amount of glitter.
The way it works is that when you press your lips together it transforms the lipstick into a 3D glitter magic that is pretty awesome to watch.
If you do not want too much glitter then just press your lips together once. If you want to be extra, then press your lips together multiple times and that will consistently reveal more and more glitter until you are satisfied with the amount of glitter.
The result is a dazzling, festive look that will be sure to turn heads.
This is a beautiful light pink shade with subtle hints of mauve.
As you can see you cannot tell that there is glitter in the lipstick from the swatch. That’s because the magic happens when the lipstick is rubbed. It’s only then that the glitters appear.
This shade is described as a berry tone but it swatched a little lighter than berry on my skin tone but still a very beautiful color.
On my complexion it almost comes off as a brick color with some red tones and brown tones in there.
I was satisfied with just a little bit of glitter so I only pressed my lips together a few times.
The best part about these lipsticks is that you can control the amount of glitter that you want to be revealed so you’re completely in control of the end result.
Both shades were equally flattering but Candy for me felt a tad bit more drying than Infamous. This can easily be fixed by applying a clear high shine top coat over the lipstick so you get some moisture without hiding the sparkling glitter.
If you’re not a fan of matte lipsticks then these gorgeous holiday lip glosses from Anastasia Beverly Hills are a great option for sparkling holiday lips.
These lipsticks were all handpicked by the talented Pat McGrath herself but you’d be surprised to know that Zara’s collection is very affordable ranging from $9.90 to $17.90.
There are also two lip kits available to purchase if you can’t quite decide which lipsticks to choose.
The Behind the scenes lip kit which contains three bullet lipsticks and the Ultimatte Trio which contains a lip liner, bullet lipstick and a liquid lipstick. The lip kits go for $35.90 which is still a pretty sweet deal.
