Casually Glam with butter London

If you’ve read my last blog you’ll find that I’m starting to shift my nail polish collection into more long wearing nail polishes so as to save money in the long run. I recently un-boxed my butter London Glitz and Glam Set to find that there are three more polishes, a lippy and an eyeliner. That was a pleasant surprise that I got for making a purchase over $50.

There’s a new deal going on right now with a $50 purchase. Snag it here with promo CATWALKREADY. This deal has a $62 value so jump on it now while supplies last.

It was definitely worth it as I can say I got double the products for the price of one. This girl is not complaining!

Of course there’s not better way to show off my lipstick for the day than with a selfie. I haven’t actually worn the Snog liquid lipstick that came in the Glam Set yet because I want to save that for another post but for this particular day I chose to wear Teddy Boy Lip Crayon by butter London because it’s easily becoming my go to when I’m having a hard time finding a matching lipstick.

I did wear a top coat of the Lucy in the Sky over one of my other nail polished and I did like the finish of it. This photo was also taken like six days after I put it one because I wanted to see how long it lasted and it did not disappoint.

Butter London- Primrose Picnic Lip Crayon

Hey fellow bloggers and readers,

I have to admit that I’m glad to be back after taking off a month. If you’ve noticed that I’ve been MIA for a while that’s because I recently got married and was caught up in wedding planning and travelling. Now that that’s all over just been trying to get back to my lipstick hunting and weekly blogging.

Well you guys know that I love a good deal, especially if you’re someone like me who spends a lot on makeup. Butter London has been my secret obsession as of late. I’ve purchased their lip oil that I’m convinced was a God sent because it’s literally the best thing that has happened to my lips. And because I was very happy with that purchase, I had to go back and get other products, of course.

The good news is that Butter London is having a sale and that’s how I ended up buying more products. Click here to take advantage of that sale and reclaim your lipstick game! Since it’s a sale item, it may or may not be available but the lipstick version can be found on Amazon as well.

My most recent purchase is the Primrose Hill Picnic Lip Crayon as seen in the pic below:

It’s a very girly and flirty fuchsia-like shade on me. I really got a ton of compliments on this color as it is so vibrant and just lights up my entire face.

You can compare it to my first lip crayon purchase from Butter London in the shade Teddy Boy that is more of pinkish nude on my skin tone that I wear all the time now when I’m not trying to go too heavy on the makeup.

Teddy Boy Lip Crayon – Get it Here. This shade is also on sale now for $10. Grab it while it lasts!

Butter London has been a brand on my list, and yes I do have a very long list, that I’ve been wanting to try for a while. As per usual, I’m always in search of a great lip product and came across the lip crayon in the shade Teddy Boy.

Firstly, I would like to mention that I enjoyed using Butter London’s site because they show you how the same product will look on women of different complexion so you could more or less have an idea of how their product is gonna look on you. That to me was very helpful and one of the main reasons why I’ll be back to shop on their site.

Butter London calls it the ‘3-in-1 formula’ as in it gives you the control of a lip liner, coverage of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss. I have to say that these claims have proven to be true.

The lip crayon comes with it’s own built in sharpener which is super convenient. It’s easy to line my lips with it and then fill it in. On my complexion the shade is like a nudish pink which I absolutely love. It almost has that same finish as my Naturally Chic lipstick from Milani. It has a creamy consistency with a slight gloss finish compared to Wet N Wild’s very matte Nudist Peach. It’s not to loud but just perfectly subtle but yet fun and flirty at the same time. Another plus is that this shade will match with almost anything in your wardrobe. It can go from the desk to happy hour in no time.

I honestly can’t wait to try more shades from them. There products are also formulated without harsh and toxic ingredients like parabens and mineral oil just to name a few, so you can be confident that you’re only applying safe ingredients to your skin.

Has anyone tried a product from Butter London? Leave me some feedback and let PuckerUpBabe know in the comments below.

5 Reasons Your Lipstick and Lip Gloss Might Be Expired

Not all makeup was created equal, some tend to go bad and harbor bacteria faster than others but if you’re a lipstick and lip gloss hoarder then you’ll have better luck with keeping them around for much longer. The shelf life for lipstick is said to be about two years! However, there are some signs that you need to be aware of so you can know when it’s time to toss it:

Expired Lipstick

Expired Lipstick

1. Your lipstick appears dry, has a weird or waxy odor

Out of all your beauty products, your lipstick is the one that will probably last the longest. If you notice that the texture is not the same and the smell is off then it’s probably time for you to throw it out!

2. The Texture of Your Lip Gloss is Just Not the Same

If you notice that your lip gloss is a bit stickier or clumpy like and just won’t go on smoothly then it’s time to get rid of that sucker.

3. You get a reaction from your lipstick or lip gloss

There are times when your body will tell you that your lipstick or lip gloss is going bad. In my experience, I get tiny bumps on the edge of my lips and they itch like crazy. In that case, lip gloss be gone!

4. You notice a different color on the lipstick

I’ve only seen this happened to one of my lip products. It was actually a lip crayon that I had only for a about year or less and noticed that the color was off. Even though it was a newer product it was probably sitting on the shelf for a while so we also need to be cognizant of that.

5. The Appearance of Mold

Now this one is a no-brainer and pretty much self explanatory. If you are not convinced that your lipstick is expired after seeing mold then good luck with that!

Now, the moral of the story, when in doubt, toss it out!

What other signs should we look out for? Let PuckerUpBabe know! XOXO

My No Make Up Nude Lip with NYX Riverside Rose Lip Crayon

NYC Riverside Rose Lip Crayon

NYC Riverside Rose Lip Crayon

So it has always been hard for me to find the perfect nude lip that will go great with my complexion and won’t let me look sick or washed out. My current nude lipstick buy is by NYC in the shade Riverside Rose. It’s actually a lip crayon and it looks like a nude pink on my lips. I’ve been a little lazy about wearing make up lately and when that happens, I just put on a little face moisturizer and of course a cute nude lip color.
When I first applied this lip crayon I put it on my bare lips and it was just really dry and unpleasant looking which is a definite no no when it comes to my lips. For my second attempt, I glided on some of my e.o.s. lip balm before and then added the lip crayon which made the look and feel a thousand times better. I am very pleased with the results now and will definitely be wearing this lip crayon more often. What’s your favourite nude lip color? Share your comments below. Puckers to you xoxo.
