How Cheaper Lip Balms aren’t as Bad as You Think

I recently picked up an e.l.f. tinted lip balm when I was on one of my grocery runs. It was definitely an impulse buy but so is about 60% of my makeup collection. The good news is that this e.l.f. lip balm was only a dollar so if it didn’t work out then I wouldn’t feel so bad. It comes in a super cute little container that will fit absolutely anywhere!

I got the tinted e.l.f lip balm in the color peach just because it was the brightest of the three colors on the fixture and the other two just seemed too neutral to me. Now because the lip balm only cost me a dollar I really didn’t expect it to work any wonders but much to my surprise it did keep my lips moisturized for more than four hours.

The only negative I have is that I didn’t really see much of a peachy tint on my lips as it claimed . It was also a bit sticky at first try but that may have been because I applied three coats of the lip balm due to lack of seeing the peach tint.

This is a lip balm that I will definitely purchase again. Even though I didn’t get to see the tint that I wanted, it was functional and got the job done of keeping my lips moisturized. The stickiness that I felt at first try did wear off after some time. You can also check out some of my other lip balms and lip care products that give me great results.

Carmex Lip Balm

I have tried many lip balms and I’m on a quest to find those that actually help to keep my lips from peeling and drying out. Another on my list is the Carmex Lip Balm. This lip balm was able to keep my lips moist in the dead of winter when there was wind chills below twenty degrees, which of course, is the perfect recipe for dry, sore and painful lips. I applied this lip balm to my lips as often as needed and it did get the job done. It applies smoothly and has a minty finish that soothes. I will forever keep this lip balm as part of my stash as long as it exists.

Evolution of Smooth Lip Balm

eos Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm

eos Strawberry Sorbet Lip Balm

This is my new favorite lip balm. First of all, I love the ease of use because of it’s round shape. Often times, it’s very hard for me to get to the corner of my lips, which is the part that gets the most chapped and dry for me, but this allows me to easily get into those hard to get corners with no problem. It goes on really smooth and keeps my lips moisturized. I usually put this on before I wear any lipstick, especially one of a matte finish so that my lips stay moist all day long.

Another reason why I love this lip balm is because it taste amazing and it’s 95% organic and made with awesome ingredients like jojoba oil and Shea butter which definitely makes my lips happy. Check it out and let me know what you think.
