It’s very likely that many of us have been waiting all year for an excuse to overdo it with all the glitter.
The holiday season is all about glitter and bling and that includes your makeup. The best part about it is that you never wear too much glitter for the holidays. It’s the one time we get to get away with it.
There’s no better way to take your makeup to the next level than with glitter glossy lips. INC.redible’s You Lucky Pucker Party Lip Trio Set is just what you’ll need to secure the best lips trophy.
The set contains a lip quencher, lip topper and lip gloss.
First things first, you always want to make sure lips are properly exfoliated and hydrated.
Jelly Shot Ex Revenge Lip Quencher
The lip jelly shot lip quencher helps to lock in moisture and keep your lips soft and ready for lipstick.
It’s a clear lipstick with a gorgeous flower inside similar to Blush and Whimsy’s but this one does not leave a tint on the lips. It’s essentially just a fancy looking lip balm but it does leave the lips nice and soft.
Glittergasm Red Hot Ready Glitter Lip Topper
This lip topper is like a clear gloss with red glitter in there. So the formula itself is not red, just the glitter so it won’t make your lips red.
Worn on it’s own you can’t really see the impact that this lip topper can have. As you can see it looks just like a regular lip gloss.
To test it out as a lip topper I put some red matte lipstick on from Anastasia Beverly Hills in the shade Ruby.
The true power of the lip topper comes out when worn over lipstick which it is actually meant for.
Another great thing about this topper is that you cannot feel the glitter in there which is major for me. Also, the gloss doesn’t move around and get smeared all over your face which was another plus for me.
Girl King Major Player Storm Strobe Lip Gloss
The strobe lip gloss is a lip gloss with a little twist.
It’s smooth and creamy with an iridescent glow when it reflects the light.
What I love about this gloss is that it’s not overwhelmingly glittery.
This month’s bag was extremely late where mine did not hit the mailbox until the 29th of November but at least it got here before the month was over.
November’s card was all white and featured cute little eyes and lips in the shap of an umbrella. I did not quite get the reason for the umbrella in November but it was cute.
The theme for the month is ‘Give them a reason to stare’
Normally, the list of products and the prices can be found on the back of the card but this time around there was nothing but a message letting us know of their newly launched website with $5 off any one-time purchase.
So I had to do some research to get prices for the items.
Let’s take a look at what came in the bag:
Jersey Shore Cosmetics Star Mint Glossy Balm – $10 Jelly Pong Pong Ballon Lip Butter -$18.95 Mirabella Color Viny Lipstick Icy Violet – Reg price $26; On Sale $10 South Mane Lip Gels – Reg price $14; On Sale $9
Jersey Shore Cosmetics Star Mint Glossy Balm – $10
Lip balms are a beauty essential no matter if you’re a frequent lipstick wearer or not. This one from Jersey Shore Cosmetics, a non toxic beauty line, is all organic with certified organic ingredients. It smells really great and does feel very minty on the lips but unfortunately I did not get much of a glossy effect from it.
In September’s Bag we also received a peppermint lip balm from Portland Bee Balm that I still enjoy to this day.
Jelly Pong Pong Balloon Lip Butter -$18.95
The Jelly Pong Pong brand is no stranger to the Lip Monthly Subscription. This lip butter was very creamy and felt hydrating on the lips but this color was a bit off for my skin tone.
On their website it is described as…
“A rich, emollient, buttery lip treatment that leaves lips gently hydrated with a tinge of color. All shades are formulated with a toffee & coral-rose base so they will never drain your complexion, no matter which hue you pick.”
The swatch on my hands came off as a slight rosy nude.
However, on my lips the color did not come off the same giving me a washed out look. This can definitely be fixed with a brown lip liner to create more dimensions but on its own it did not work out for me.
Mirabella Colour Vinyl Lipstick Icy Violet – $26
Mirabella is a brand that I have never heard of before so I checked out their website and seems like they are a beauty brand that sells a bit of everything for eyes, lips and face.
The colour vinyl lipsticks are regularly priced at $26 but they were on sale for $10 but they were also marked as sold out.
This lipstick, however, is absolutely gorgeous. The violet color is super pigment and definitely pops.
It has a very unique feeling on the lips that I have not felt with any other lipstick. The texture of it is like a glossy lipstick.
In other words it feels like a lipstick but has the finish of a gloss. With that said, this lipstick does not have a very long staying power.
With a creamy, glossy finish it does transfer to everything but if that does not bother you then it would be totally worth it.
South Mane Lip Gels – $14
Lip gels are a beauty treatment that I’ve received in the past that is suppose to help moisturize and soften your lips. This brand also has eye gels that work pretty well at depuffing eyes.
We received three packs of South Mane’s lip gels in our bag which was pretty awesome. I did test these out and I have to say that the gels did what they claimed to do.
There was definitely a tingling sensation and my lips were more softer than before. The only thing is that it was a struggle to actually keep these on the lips.
If you were not lying down or had your head tilted back they fall off very easily so that was a lot annoying. They definitely scored points for a little plumping and moisturizing but not for ease of use.
The total value for Lip Monthly’s November bag is $68.95
We might all be excited for the holidays so that we can wear our moody makeup and lipsticks but the worst part about the Fall and Winter seasons is the cold and dry weather that lingers and do a number on our skin and lips.
If you love everything Fall, then pumpkin spice is just the thing to put you in the mood for Thanksgiving leading up to your favorite pumpkin pie.
This the season for pumpkin spice and everything nice and some of us are definitely hard core pumpkin spice fans. If pumpkin spice is not your cup of tea you can check out these other tinted lip balms.
At this time of the year it’s all about the cozy flannels and of course your pumpkin spice flavored everything. From candles to lattes and of course your lip balms.
Here is a list of three pumpkin spice lip balms that could make a great addition to your collection that will appease your pumpkin spice needs.
Origins is definitely known for amazing skin care like their Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay which is a favorite product of mine, but they have recently re-opened their lipstick collection after being missing from the scenes for quite some time.
The good news is that they’re back and they’re doing it well! The skin care brand recently released two categories of lipsticks, Blooming Bold Lipsticks and Blooming Sheer Lip Balms.
Blooming Bolds, like the name states, are bold, full coverage lipsticks that are infused with 12 flowers, waxes and other essential oils to provide all day moisture. These come in 24 different shades to accessorize every outfit and mood.
The Blooming Sheer Balms hydrate the lips with a hint of fresh color. They’re available in 8 different shades that give you more of a natural finish for those lazy ‘no makeup’ makeup days.
Both the bold lipstick and the sheer balms go for $20 each. Peep the collection here.
Contrary to all the makeup tutorials on Social Media, for many of us, our busy schedule does not allow for us to get all glammed up with smokey eyes, the perfect pout and highlight beaming to the gods.
A more realistic get-ready for the average working woman comprises of very minimal makeup and chapstick.
Let’s be real.
We all want to look effortlessly beautiful with little to no effort in half the time. So how do we achieve that look?
The trick is a good moisturizer, brow gel, eyeliner and/or mascara like the one from Wander Beauty and a tinted lip balm.
Tinted lip balms are known to give you that fresh, natural look without the use of a lipstick. Here are a few favorites that are great alternatives to your plain old regular chapstick.
e.l.f. Tinted Lip Balm
We all know e.l.f. to be a super affordable drugstore brand that does carry amazing products like their tinted lip balms. These lip balms give your lips a natural, subtle color while keeping your lips hydrated at the same time. They come in fun flavors and colors like berry and peach.
These lip balms have a bit more staying power as far as the color, than that of e.l.f.’s but they’re both equally hydrating. The colors on these are also build-able and can be layered to create a more pigmented look.
These, like Burt’s Bees, come in a variety of colors that you can switch up to suit your look. These Pixi Lip Balms do provide amazing color without being too overwhelming and have decent moisture as well. They feel buttery soft and gentle on the lips and will be a great compliment to your ‘no-makeup’ makeup days.
If the NARS Orgasm blush didn’t make you feel some type of way when you applied it then imagine what you would do when I tell you that NARS is expanding their collection and coming out with an Orgasm Lip Balm.
For those of you who’ve purchased something from the Orgasm collection you will know that it is a pinky peach shade with a perfect touch of shimmer from the gods.
