So I’ve been trying to hold off on buying new lipsticks for a while until I can use up what I already have. With that said, I can get bored with wearing the same lipsticks quick so I’ve been trying different ways to make wearing my old lipsticks more fun.
Okay, so let’s get to it. I wore my Milani Matte Confident 67 and wanted it to be of a little lighter shade so I applied a topcoat of my Maybelline Totally Toffee 215 which lightened it up and resulted in a slightly brownish nude lip color. It was a completely new lip shade and it was totally free.
Not only does this help me to keep some change in my pocket, it’s fun and exciting to see what new shades your old lipsticks can bring forth.

I received this fabulous Rimmel London Lip Velvet – 307 Meteoric Matte lip stain in a beauty box subscription and I thought I’d share. I’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks to test how long it lasts and I must say that the vibrancy of the color does last for up to 8 hours. Naturally, there will be some fading but in my opinion even with the little fading it was still popping.
I am very satisfied with the finish of this product on my lips as well. It’s not sticky or gunky and has a velvety finish. I did however, experience some dryness but that’s because of the matte finish. Nothing a little lip balm before application can’t fix. You can go about with your normal day eating and drinking and not having to reapply for up to eight hours.
This is also a perfect lip stain just in time for Thanksgiving and the holidays for those who are not yet comfortable flaunting bold red lips. This is a perfect substitution color that universally flatters every skin tone.
I got this e.l.f. Lip Stain on impulse buy, which happens to me more than I would like, because I thought the name sounded really cute, so the swatch must be amazing and sure enough, like many times before, I was very disappointed with this product. Firstly, I would start with the pros and those are that it was affordable and the pointy pen-like tip made application very easy for a sleek, smudge free lip.
I hated everything else about this lip stain. It was very dry from the minute I opened it and applied it to my lips. I also tried to wet the tip a little bit so that the product would come out. Eventually, that helped out a little and was able to get some color on my lips. The color was not vibrant at on my lips. I needed the shade to be a little brighter because I thought it washed me out. Then, it only lasted for about an hour and a half before the color started disappearing. I will not be buying this product again. I still, however, do enjoy a few products from e.l.f. and my Lip Exfoliator is one of them.

So it has always been hard for me to find the perfect nude lip that will go great with my complexion and won’t let me look sick or washed out. My current nude lipstick buy is by NYC in the shade Riverside Rose. It’s actually a lip crayon and it looks like a nude pink on my lips. I’ve been a little lazy about wearing make up lately and when that happens, I just put on a little face moisturizer and of course a cute nude lip color.
When I first applied this lip crayon I put it on my bare lips and it was just really dry and unpleasant looking which is a definite no no when it comes to my lips. For my second attempt, I glided on some of my e.o.s. lip balm before and then added the lip crayon which made the look and feel a thousand times better. I am very pleased with the results now and will definitely be wearing this lip crayon more often. What’s your favourite nude lip color? Share your comments below. Puckers to you xoxo.
Everyone has been raving about fuchsia lipsticks this season and here on my list again is Milani’s Matte Orchid, an intense pink shade of flirty fun. It’s very inexpensive and has a “moisture matte” finish to it that makes it not as drying as my Flat Out Fabulous by MAC. It lasts for about five hours on my lips and still leaves a stain after you take it off so you might need a little lip scrub for complete removal.
I’ve really been into Milani products lately and I’m very excited to see what they come up with next. Their colors seem to really compliment my skin tone which will definitely make me a returning customer, plus I think the packaging of their lipsticks is very sexy with the reflective gold finish. Pink lipstick may be a hard color for many of us women to pull off but it just takes a little patience to find the right shade for you that will make your lips pop. Milani’s Matte Diva 63 is a bright pink that I would say is a part of the fuchsia family because it has some subtle purple tones to it. It’s a lot more pink and girly than MAC’s Flat Out Fabulous and it’s the perfect shade for Spring that will pair well with floral pieces in your wardrobe.
I have to say however, that I do prefer my Flat Out Fabulous by MAC over this one because I think the quality is a little better. After wearing this lipstick for a few hours it started to emphasize the dryness of my lips since it has a matte finish. Many lipsticks with a matte finish are very drying and will almost always dry out your lips, that is why you always have to prep your lips for that smooth, flawless finish. Even though I used my olive oil and brown sugar lip scrub as well as my Carmex Lip Balm this lipstick didn’t hold up well enough for me. With that said, its a bold and beautiful color that I would still rock but only if I run out of my Flat Out Fabulous by MAC. What are your current pink or fuchsia shades?

If you’re looking for that one lip color to revamp your lipstick collection then Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in shade Napa Vineyard will do the trick. Burgundy colored lipsticks have lately become my new fave and is a shade that I find myself wearing more often to work and even dinner. It is the perfect shade to transition from day to night which is a must have for every woman.
It’s 100% natural and went on very smoothly on my lips. I did prep my lips before with my brown sugar and olive oil mixture and then put a very thin layer of my Carmex Lip Balm to lock in the moisture. This lip crayon stayed on during my entire time at work, even through lunch and some snacks in between. I paid around $9 for the stick but it’s definitely worth it. Try it out and let me know what you think. Puckers to you xoxo.
