I have to admit that I’m glad to be back after taking off a month. If you’ve noticed that I’ve been MIA for a while that’s because I recently got married and was caught up in wedding planning and travelling. Now that that’s all over just been trying to get back to my lipstick hunting and weekly blogging.
Well you guys know that I love a good deal, especially if you’re someone like me who spends a lot on makeup. Butter London has been my secret obsession as of late. I’ve purchased their lip oil that I’m convinced was a God sent because it’s literally the best thing that has happened to my lips. And because I was very happy with that purchase, I had to go back and get other products, of course.
The good news is that Butter London is having a sale and that’s how I ended up buying more products. Click here to take advantage of that sale and reclaim your lipstick game! Since it’s a sale item, it may or may not be available but the lipstick version can be found on Amazon as well.
My most recent purchase is the Primrose Hill Picnic Lip Crayon as seen in the pic below:
It’s a very girly and flirty fuchsia-like shade on me. I really got a ton of compliments on this color as it is so vibrant and just lights up my entire face.
You can compare it to my first lip crayon purchase from Butter London in the shade Teddy Boy that is more of pinkish nude on my skin tone that I wear all the time now when I’m not trying to go too heavy on the makeup.
If you guys haven’t noticed, I’ve been wearing fuchsia lipsticks like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve mentioned this before in one of older posts that you can read here but fuchsia is like a grown and sexy version of pinks and reds combined that compliments and suits almost all skin tones and immediately brightens your complexion. With that said, and knowing that I’ve been on a fuchsia binge lately, my latest fuchsia buy is the shade Jet Setter by Lorac. Get it on Amazon.
This lipstick will stand out without you even trying, not because it’s vibrant but the depth that it also creates instantly draws attention to your face giving you that effortlessly glamorous look. This lipstick will surely be a winner as it can suit any woman, any look and any occasion. It’s definitely on my list of best fuchsia lipstick.
It is a highly pigmented deep fuchsia lipstick that goes on smoothly with lots of coverage and a creamy matte finish. The pigment and color on this lipstick was so intense that I didn’t even have to reapply it. It lasted me for an entire work day even with eating and drinking. It is at a higher price point, retails around $18, than most of my other lipsticks but I got it at a discounted price from from Glambot for only $15.30 This shade is currently sold out but you can check out the other shade that I’m interested in here called Lorac Alter Ego CEO. Get it on Amazon.

Now that Spring has sprung the fashion runway has graced us with some of the hottest lip shades of the season. It’s time to pack up your neutrals and unleash the attention grabbers from your collection. Here are some of the lip shades that have been causing a frenzy this season:
This is a fun and vibrant shade that is bold, bright and loud. It just screams ‘welcome spring’ and looking forward to summer. For darker skin tones, you want to stick with a red orange and lighter skin tones a more peachy orange. Get it on Amazon.
This is definitely a shade that is more flirty and playful. The purplish-pink tones will compliment any skin tone as purple is known to be a universally flattering color. This is a shade that almost all women will already have in their lipstick collection so don’t be afraid to sport it. I, myself, have quite a few that fall under this category. Don’t judge me!
Now, there are different shades to plum, the darker and mysterious shade and the lighter shades which I would say looks similar to a fuchsia but with less pink, if you know what I mean. It’s electrifying and would instantly take your look to a whole nother level.
And last but definitely not least, the shade red. Well did you think we would leave this classic off the list? Shame on you! We all know that red is here to stay and it would be a crime if it was forgotten. Matte red seemed to be the dominant shade this season. It’s a very responsive shade that automatically commands attention. Every woman should possess a tube of red lipstick, even if not for everyday wear, for those special occasions where you wanna make a powerful statement. Get it on Amazon.
I received this fabulous Rimmel London Lip Velvet – 307 Meteoric Matte lip stain in a beauty box subscription and I thought I’d share. I’ve been using it for the past couple of weeks to test how long it lasts and I must say that the vibrancy of the color does last for up to 8 hours. Naturally, there will be some fading but in my opinion even with the little fading it was still popping.
I am very satisfied with the finish of this product on my lips as well. It’s not sticky or gunky and has a velvety finish. I did however, experience some dryness but that’s because of the matte finish. Nothing a little lip balm before application can’t fix. You can go about with your normal day eating and drinking and not having to reapply for up to eight hours.
This is also a perfect lip stain just in time for Thanksgiving and the holidays for those who are not yet comfortable flaunting bold red lips. This is a perfect substitution color that universally flatters every skin tone.
I received this Sephora lipstick, Mr. Lover, as a Christmas present last year from my sisters and it’s one of the most moisturizing lipsticks in my collection. It goes on very smoothly and leaves a rich, creamy texture that won’t dry out your lips. I absolutely love the color as well, a deep-ish hot fuchsia with a slight sheen that will compliment almost any skin tone. I found myself wearing it a lot during the winter because it left my lips soft and luscious. It also left a bit of a stain on my lips after some hours, which is good because no one wants their lipstick to be completely washed off that you have to apply it every 15 minutes. It’s long wearing, vibrant and moisturizing. These are the complete opposite of matte lipsticks and are a great option for those women who prefer creamy and hydrating lipsticks.
There was not even a need for me to apply a lip balm because of how moisturizing it is. I will definitely be visiting Sephora to see what other exciting colors they have in this creamy, moisturizing texture. What are your current favorites from Sephora? Post your pics and comments below. Puckers to you xoxo.
Fuchsia lipsticks have been one of my signature lip shade for 2014 and will definitely be on my holy grail list for this year. Fuchsia is like a purple-ish, pink-ish color that is universally flattering on women of every color. If you’re thinking about giving bold colored lipsticks a try and not sure which shade to start with then a purple-ish shade is definitely the way to go.
To achieve this look I applied Milani’s Fuchsia Lip Liner to line and fill my lips. I always use a lip liner when wearing lipsticks because not only does the lip liner act as a guide so that my lipstick doesn’t go outside of the ‘lip zone’ but it also helps with keeping your lipstick vibrant throughout the day. The lipstick I used is Flat Out Fabulous by MAC. It’s a retro matte shade and it lasts all day long.
You should always apply some chap stick or lip balm before you apply your lipstick because matte lipsticks have a very dry finish. If you’re not a fan of matte lipsticks then you might want to search for a more creamier texture that won’t dry out your lips. There was never a need to reapply my lipstick and that’s why this is one of my favorite lipsticks because it will last me for months at a time. Try it out and let me know what you think. Puckers to you xoxo.
