I’ve tried quite a few drugstore lipsticks but el.f. wasn’t one of them.
My usual purchases from e.l.f include brushes, contour and blush set as well as their lip balms and lip exfoliators so yeah, I have to admit that to me it’s a decent drugstore brand as I frequently purchase their products.
New to my list of e.l.f products is their liquid matte lipsticks. They come in eleven different shades and I purchased four of them online from Ulta.
Like many, finding the right shade of nude lipstick is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Pretty much near impossible. At one point they even had us checking out or nipples for the right shade. That’s how serious this nude lipstick situation has become.
The cosmetics industry has come a long way when it comes to perfecting a nude shade that will compliment most skin tones. I’ve created a list of my favorite nude lipsticks that weren’t necessarily perfect but got pretty close.
We all know of those nude lipsticks that make us look like we just walked out the cemetery but the choices from this list did everything but that. Some may need a little bit more tweaking than others with some lip pencils but these worked out great for me.
The story goes that ABH is on top of the list when it comes to makeup so of course I wanted to investigate for myself.
I have actually tried ABH in the past and I have to admit that their makeup is a force to be reckoned with. I tried their summer lip gloss set and I was very happy with them. The colors were absolutely gorgeous and I still frequently wear them to this day.
I recently picked up the Mini Matte Lipstick Set at Sephora a few weeks back because I wanted to see if they were as good as the lip gloss.
I tried that looking at your nipple thing to find your perfect nude shade and that didn’t do it for me so I’m back to doing things the old fashioned way.
Trying on a million and one nude lipstick until I find a winner.
I wish I had that super power of knowing if a nude lipstick would work for me without trying them first because as of late, I’ve been through several nude lipsticks that I purchased that I had to kick to the curb.
Not really! I’m not wasting my money like that.
You best believe that I will do everything in my power to make that nude lipstick that’s ten shades lighter than me work before I resort to throwing it out.
There has been so much rave about this liquid lipstick that I had to find out for myself what kind of magic, if any, was stored in the tube.
Right off the bat, it has a very high end looking tube packaging with a wand applicator that allows you to easily glide on the lipstick. Wet N Wild claims this lipstick to have “Vivid Color”, “Ultra-Matte Finish” and “Comfortable Wear”.
When I first applied the lipstick, I have to say that the color and pigmentation was intense. I did have to wait for about 20 seconds for it to try before I applied my second coat. When the second coat was fully dried it did have a very dry and matte finish that did not budge. It is also kiss proof and transfer free. Way to go for a liquid lipstick that’s only 5 bucks!
As they claimed, the wear is very comfortable. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips at all. If I didn’t know any better I wouldn’t even have known that I was wearing lipstick. The formula that makes this lipstick super lightweight is definitely a winner.
I would say that the wear time is about average, 3 to 4 hours. My lips were even drier around that time and I noticed that dry patches were starting to show. It also doesn’t hold up very well after eating so I had to remove and apply a fresh coat and all was well with the world again.
Wet N Wild is definitely giving luxury brands a run for their money as the quality of the lipstick and of course the affordable price is something that can’t be beat.
The Cast Suit Mega last collection has a variety of colors and guess what? I’m just getting started!

I did a review on my last post about Sweet Nectar from Milani’s Color Statement Collection and today I’m reviewing the color Naturally Chic. If you’d like to know what I thought of this color then read on…
Naturally Chic is like a brownish pinkish neutral color that is meant to give you that subtle, natural look. It’s definitely not the color for you if you’re looking for something bright and bold. It’s meant to give you that effortlessly chic look that’s not too over the top. It’s a color that is definitely suitable for the office but will do just as well for cocktail hour at the bar. Get it on Amazon.
When I first opened the cap for this lipstick the first thing that I noticed was the smell. It had the most wonderful smell that was kinda fruity but not overwhelmingly so that it would turn you off.
It also had a very creamy finish and smooth texture that glide on easily. This lipstick was also very moisturizing compared to Sweet Nectar that had a matte finish that dried out the lips and settled on the dry patches. I did not get any of that with Naturally Chic. This lipstick does transfer, however, being that it’s not a matte, dry finish.
Like the rest of the other colors from her collection, Naturally Chic is only six bucks and for that price, it’s definitely worth it! This is gonna permanently have a space in my nudes and natural lipstick collection.
