Hey guys! As a way of showing appreciation for all my readers and followers I’m having a pretty awesome giveaway of the Bite Beauty Astrology lipsticks as well as a set of the mini Bouche Amuse Lipsticks.
Glitter lips have definitely been one of this year’s trends and it’s even more popular as we near the holidays. It’s no secret that everyone wants to put their best glitter looks forward, from outfits to makeup at the holiday parties because everything is better with glitter and lips are no exception.
Ciaté London’s Limited Edition Holographic lipstick shades are a quick fix and budget friendly option for perfect glitter lips this season.
The set features two lipsticks with metallic formulation that will have you ready for party season. One of the lipsticks is their best selling shade Candy and the other is Infamous Holographic.
The instructions are quite simple. It calls for one coat of the lipstick that you are suppose to leave on for one minute to dry and then press lips together until you get your desired amount of glitter.
The way it works is that when you press your lips together it transforms the lipstick into a 3D glitter magic that is pretty awesome to watch.
If you do not want too much glitter then just press your lips together once. If you want to be extra, then press your lips together multiple times and that will consistently reveal more and more glitter until you are satisfied with the amount of glitter.
The result is a dazzling, festive look that will be sure to turn heads.
This is a beautiful light pink shade with subtle hints of mauve.
As you can see you cannot tell that there is glitter in the lipstick from the swatch. That’s because the magic happens when the lipstick is rubbed. It’s only then that the glitters appear.
This shade is described as a berry tone but it swatched a little lighter than berry on my skin tone but still a very beautiful color.
On my complexion it almost comes off as a brick color with some red tones and brown tones in there.
I was satisfied with just a little bit of glitter so I only pressed my lips together a few times.
The best part about these lipsticks is that you can control the amount of glitter that you want to be revealed so you’re completely in control of the end result.
Both shades were equally flattering but Candy for me felt a tad bit more drying than Infamous. This can easily be fixed by applying a clear high shine top coat over the lipstick so you get some moisture without hiding the sparkling glitter.
If you’re not a fan of matte lipsticks then these gorgeous holiday lip glosses from Anastasia Beverly Hills are a great option for sparkling holiday lips.
These lipsticks were all handpicked by the talented Pat McGrath herself but you’d be surprised to know that Zara’s collection is very affordable ranging from $9.90 to $17.90.
There are also two lip kits available to purchase if you can’t quite decide which lipsticks to choose.
The Behind the scenes lip kit which contains three bullet lipsticks and the Ultimatte Trio which contains a lip liner, bullet lipstick and a liquid lipstick. The lip kits go for $35.90 which is still a pretty sweet deal.
It’s very likely that many of us have been waiting all year for an excuse to overdo it with all the glitter.
The holiday season is all about glitter and bling and that includes your makeup. The best part about it is that you never wear too much glitter for the holidays. It’s the one time we get to get away with it.
There’s no better way to take your makeup to the next level than with glitter glossy lips. INC.redible’s You Lucky Pucker Party Lip Trio Set is just what you’ll need to secure the best lips trophy.
The set contains a lip quencher, lip topper and lip gloss.
First things first, you always want to make sure lips are properly exfoliated and hydrated.
Jelly Shot Ex Revenge Lip Quencher
The lip jelly shot lip quencher helps to lock in moisture and keep your lips soft and ready for lipstick.
It’s a clear lipstick with a gorgeous flower inside similar to Blush and Whimsy’s but this one does not leave a tint on the lips. It’s essentially just a fancy looking lip balm but it does leave the lips nice and soft.
Glittergasm Red Hot Ready Glitter Lip Topper
This lip topper is like a clear gloss with red glitter in there. So the formula itself is not red, just the glitter so it won’t make your lips red.
Worn on it’s own you can’t really see the impact that this lip topper can have. As you can see it looks just like a regular lip gloss.
To test it out as a lip topper I put some red matte lipstick on from Anastasia Beverly Hills in the shade Ruby.
The true power of the lip topper comes out when worn over lipstick which it is actually meant for.
Another great thing about this topper is that you cannot feel the glitter in there which is major for me. Also, the gloss doesn’t move around and get smeared all over your face which was another plus for me.
Girl King Major Player Storm Strobe Lip Gloss
The strobe lip gloss is a lip gloss with a little twist.
It’s smooth and creamy with an iridescent glow when it reflects the light.
What I love about this gloss is that it’s not overwhelmingly glittery.
Fenty Beauty has made a name for itself in the lip gloss department with creating some of the most universally flattering lip glosses.
Many of us are super picky about lip glosses not wanting it to be too thick or too sticky. What separates Fenty Beauty’s lip glosses is that it gives you that wet look without all the heavy stickiness.
The new shade is called Fu$$y that has some beautiful mauve undertones with the same amazing formula of course!
Lancome gave us a sneak peak of their new lipsticks that will be launching in January of next year and they are looking splendid.
The lipsticks literally look like something you would eat. They are not even out yet and I’m already obsessed.
This month’s bag was extremely late where mine did not hit the mailbox until the 29th of November but at least it got here before the month was over.
November’s card was all white and featured cute little eyes and lips in the shap of an umbrella. I did not quite get the reason for the umbrella in November but it was cute.
The theme for the month is ‘Give them a reason to stare’
Normally, the list of products and the prices can be found on the back of the card but this time around there was nothing but a message letting us know of their newly launched website with $5 off any one-time purchase.
So I had to do some research to get prices for the items.
Let’s take a look at what came in the bag:
Jersey Shore Cosmetics Star Mint Glossy Balm – $10 Jelly Pong Pong Ballon Lip Butter -$18.95 Mirabella Color Viny Lipstick Icy Violet – Reg price $26; On Sale $10 South Mane Lip Gels – Reg price $14; On Sale $9
Jersey Shore Cosmetics Star Mint Glossy Balm – $10
Lip balms are a beauty essential no matter if you’re a frequent lipstick wearer or not. This one from Jersey Shore Cosmetics, a non toxic beauty line, is all organic with certified organic ingredients. It smells really great and does feel very minty on the lips but unfortunately I did not get much of a glossy effect from it.
In September’s Bag we also received a peppermint lip balm from Portland Bee Balm that I still enjoy to this day.
Jelly Pong Pong Balloon Lip Butter -$18.95
The Jelly Pong Pong brand is no stranger to the Lip Monthly Subscription. This lip butter was very creamy and felt hydrating on the lips but this color was a bit off for my skin tone.
On their website it is described as…
“A rich, emollient, buttery lip treatment that leaves lips gently hydrated with a tinge of color. All shades are formulated with a toffee & coral-rose base so they will never drain your complexion, no matter which hue you pick.”
The swatch on my hands came off as a slight rosy nude.
However, on my lips the color did not come off the same giving me a washed out look. This can definitely be fixed with a brown lip liner to create more dimensions but on its own it did not work out for me.
Mirabella Colour Vinyl Lipstick Icy Violet – $26
Mirabella is a brand that I have never heard of before so I checked out their website and seems like they are a beauty brand that sells a bit of everything for eyes, lips and face.
The colour vinyl lipsticks are regularly priced at $26 but they were on sale for $10 but they were also marked as sold out.
This lipstick, however, is absolutely gorgeous. The violet color is super pigment and definitely pops.
It has a very unique feeling on the lips that I have not felt with any other lipstick. The texture of it is like a glossy lipstick.
In other words it feels like a lipstick but has the finish of a gloss. With that said, this lipstick does not have a very long staying power.
With a creamy, glossy finish it does transfer to everything but if that does not bother you then it would be totally worth it.
South Mane Lip Gels – $14
Lip gels are a beauty treatment that I’ve received in the past that is suppose to help moisturize and soften your lips. This brand also has eye gels that work pretty well at depuffing eyes.
We received three packs of South Mane’s lip gels in our bag which was pretty awesome. I did test these out and I have to say that the gels did what they claimed to do.
There was definitely a tingling sensation and my lips were more softer than before. The only thing is that it was a struggle to actually keep these on the lips.
If you were not lying down or had your head tilted back they fall off very easily so that was a lot annoying. They definitely scored points for a little plumping and moisturizing but not for ease of use.
The total value for Lip Monthly’s November bag is $68.95
After trying out Fenty Beauty’s Snow Nights collection, I realized that some metallics with very good formula can be very flattering on the lips. I was on a quest to try other brands which brings me to my next metallic lipstick purchase from a Black Radiance.
Black Radiance is the newest brand to my collection. One thing that I always try to incorporate into my makeup collection is newer brands as often times you can find good quality for less than half the price compared to other major brands.
The lipsticks come in a nicely packaged gold box with a bold font.
It then flips open to reveal the three Perfect Tone Metallic Matte Lip Crémes in Bronze, Copper and Rose Gold as well as the hashtag ‘blackgirlmagic’ which I thought was pretty awesome as this is a black owned brand.
I was amazed at how affordable the lipsticks were at less than $10 for the kit. Apart from a few drugstore metallic lipsticks like Wet N Wild, that price was unbeatable, especially for three lipsticks.
Now let’s get into the lipsticks:
Like the name states, this color is everything bronze and more. Just pigmented and beautiful.
I was amazed at how beautifully this shade reflected in the light.
This color has gorgeous reddish brown hues that is perfect for the holidays.
This is such a beautiful mauve shade that would compliment most skin tone.
Metallics are definitely not your everyday lipsticks. We may all know that metallic lipsticks can either be a hit or miss for most of us mostly because they are often not the most flattering on the lips. They can sometimes be very drying which makes for a very unattractive look. Normally wearing a clear gloss on top helps with the dryness.
One thing that you have to keep in mind if you plan on wearing metallic lipsticks is that you have to exfoliate your lips and keep them well hydrated and moisturized as unlike other lipsticks metallics may not be that forgiving.
Overall these were great lipsticks and can be comparable to some higher end brands. The best part about them for me was how complimentary they were to my skin tone. Also the metallics were present but did not overwhelmingly stand out.
Weightless and comfortable on the lips
Amazing light reflection
Dried super fast and did emphasize some of the lines in my lips
