It’s been a hot minute since I actually purchased a product from Bare Minerals.
As a matter of fact, the only thing I usually purchase from them is their mineral powder foundation because my skin seems to love that stuff.
Now that I’ve been trying to expand my horizon, I’ve ventured into their lipstick category and of course I was a sucker for their gorgeous colors and gave in.
I purchased their Go Bold or Go Bare Trio of mini matte statement liquid lipsticks that contained two bold shades and one nude shade from the Gen Nude collection just to try it out first and that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
First off the bat, their packaging is very unique compared to other brands.
I like that it had like a sleek, blurred glass effect to distinguish themselves.
It’s also very simple and clean but expensive looking at the same time so they definitely nailed it when it came to the packaging.
The three shades that came in the trio include two bold lip colors in the shades:
OMG (bright pink, fucshia)
Naughty (berry brown)
Slay (light pinkish nude)
Most naturally I was immediately drawn to the bold colors because they tend to work out better for my skin tone. The formula was smooth to apply with a matte finish and felt weightless.
The pigment also packs a punch which scores bonus points in my book.
I also liked that the doe foot applicator was like a huge flat paddle that packs just the right amount of lipstick.
Even though these lipsticks are a matte they did not feel drying on the lips at all.
The staying power was also incredible. I wore mine for close to eight hours through eating and drinking and it stayed on really well.
It just slightly disappeared in the water line area of the lips but generally that is normal for lipsticks. One thing for sure is that I did not have to reapply my lipsticks.
The nude shade was okay on my lips. It was just a tad bit too light but I’m sure that I can give my lips some depth and dimension by applying a darker lip liner. Apart from that, I would say the formula is just as great as the bold ones.
This trio lipstick was $18 at Sephora.
It’s definitely worth the price in my opinion as it gives you the opportunity to try them before you commit to full size lipstick.
