I thought that there was no drugstore lipstick that could make me feel this way, but after trying these metallic lipsticks from NYX, I was like WHOA!
The power of the pigment in these lip creams had me shook.
Back in the day when my coins were scarce, they’re still scarce now but back then they were a lot more scarce, NYX was one of my favorite makeup brands but somehow I got into the hype of trying other brands and I slowly forgot about them.
But that’s about to change……
Knowing that liquid metallic lipsticks seem to be the hot trend of 2018 I went on a drugstore hunt to see what I could find and I noticed the NYX metallic lip creams and decided to go back to one of my old favorite brands.
Metallic shades:
Manila – peach with pink undertone
Havana – blue/purple
Paris – Hot pink
Manila looked like a slight coral shade on my skin tone.
Get Manila
Havana was definitely the shade that had me all shook. It was the most vibrant of the set that it could knock you out…literally!
Nonetheless, its a gorgeous shade that would take some fabulous Instagram photos.
Get Havana
It’s definitely not the first shade you would go with if you’re not used to bright and bold colors.
Paris was just downright stunning. I loved how it popped off my complexion in a great way and instantly brightened my face.
Get Paris
Regular Shades:
Copenhagen – Deep berry
Monte Carlo – Red with Pink undertone
Copenhagen, I already know is gonna be one of my fall/winter lip shades. That deep berry immediately had me thinking of what flannel I would pair it with.
Get Copenhagen
Monte Carlo to me was that shade that was caught between a pink and red but somehow still comes together to make it work.
Get Monte Carlo
Pros:
- Smells really nice
- Subtle metallic finish
- Comfortable to wear
- Super pigmented
- Glides on smoothly
- Doesn’t make your lips feel dry
- Affordable
Cons:
- Some shades were a bit patchy
- Not your everyday lip shade
So, obviously the pros outweigh the cons here.
This is one of the reasons why I loved NYX in the first place, it was only one of the few makeup brands that I could afford and that still hasn’t changed to this day, but what has definitely changed is the quality of the products.
They are not your everyday lip creams but more so appropriate for statement making lips.
It was great reconnecting with my long last brand. What lip product are you currently using from NYX?
XOXO

Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?
