Its undeniable that Maybelline is one of the oldest cosmetics company to ever exist and they have come a long way when it comes to perfecting their craft.
Maybelline’s Super Stay Matte Ink is the newest addition to my collection. I believe that there are 10 new shades to the collection and I purchased five of them that I thought would work best on my complexion. They retail at around $8.
The shades that I purchased are Protector, Visionary, Ruler, Fighter and Philosopher.
These lipsticks claim to have a 16hr wear time with a matte finish and they weren’t lying! This is truly a long lasting lipstick so you don’t have to worry about it budging any time soon. While I was swatching these lipsticks, it was extremely difficult to remove the lipstick only after a few minutes of wearing.

They all have the same fruity smell and the formula is great. Even though they are matte, weirdly enough there’s a little moisture hidden in there.
These lipsticks are also very buildable but you have to be careful as they need enough time to dry before you apply more layers.
My least favorite shade was Philosopher. There was just too much patchiness on my lips that applying more layers did not fix. I actually think that made it worse. Could someone else pull it off? Most definitely! You can also play around with it by adding a complimentary lip liner. It’s a great color. Just not on me!
These shades definitely have the key to my heart, specifically Ruler, Fighter and Protector. By the way I love that the names all sound like superheroes. Even though I tried very hard to fall in love with Philosopher, in the end it just didn’t work out.
