Finding a nude lipstick that compliments your skin tone is a struggle for many of us. It’s hard not to think about all the nude lipsticks we’ve tried only to be disappointed that they only made us look casket ready.

Well, the good news is that there is always a little bit of hope. During my usual shopping spree at Sephora, I picked up Kat Von D’s Best of Nudes Mini Kiss Creme lipsticks. I was literally standing in the checkout line and noticed it in a fixture next to me. Yep! It ended up being an impulse buy like 80% of my collection.

The beautiful shades were what initially grabbed my attention before noticing that it was by Kat Von D. I know that I enjoy her Kiss Creme lipsticks so I was even more thrilled to purchase them.

Kat Von D’s Best of Nudes Mini Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick Set is a set of nude lipsticks ranging from natural nudes, light browns and deep browns. The shades are very similar to KKW Beauty Nude Creme lipsticks but I feel Kat Von D’s are little better because they are matte and do not transfer.

What I love about the formula is that even though it’s a matte finish it’s not drying on the lips. It’s very hard these days to find mattes that are not drying so your lips will love these.

You guys know that I live for mini lipsticks because the chances of me actually using them up is very likely. Plus they couldn’t be more convenient for traveling. Now let’s get into the swatches:

Crucifix – deep chocolate

Sanctuary – nude coffee

Hawkwind – nude sienna

The colors are pigmented and the soft, satin matte formula is of good quality. The one thing that I did not quite like is that the colors on the box that initially grabbed my attention didn’t quite swatch the same. For example Ophelia looked a lot more brown on the box but swatched a lot lighter on me.

Ophelia – nude chestnut

Bow N Arrow – fawn nude

Piaf – cool chocolate with purple glimmer

If you’ve never tried her studded kiss creme lipsticks then you are definitely missing out. Personally, I’ve found that they stay put on my lips for a very long time with very good coverage.
