Here’s what was included in this month’s bag:
“Flawless”
September’s ‘Flawless’ bag was all about looking your best as you transition from summer to Autumn.
The design of the card, along with the bag was very Fall inspired with the yellow and orange leaves splashed across the card.
Let’s take a look at what came in the bag:
Starlooks – Lip Pencil in Rosette
Lip pencils are always a makeup staple especially for someone who wears lipsticks on a regular basis. It’s essential for creating a well defined pout and prevent feathering.
This one from Starlooks is a rosy shade that comes in a retractable package. Though the formula was not as creamy as I would like, it still did a good job of lining my lips.
If you look closely you will see that the lip pencil had a tad bit of a shimmer finish to it as well that I didn’t really care for but certainly not a big deal.
Cost – $19
Hikari – Lip Crayon in Macchiato
Hikari’s Lip Crayon is a jumbo pencil that allows for easy grip in a sleek black packaging with the logo which gives it a very high end type of look.
This lip crayon is a very soft brown with a creamy formula. It comes in a retractable package as well.
The only thing is that you cannot completely retract the product down so some of it will be exposed and then you have to carefully place the lid on so as not to smudge it.
The shade I would say is very true to color to what you see at first glance. It’s definitely a different shade for me that I don’t currently have in my collection. The good news is that this nude, warm tan color compliments my skin tone so well.
Cost – $13
Portland Bee Balm – Oregon Mint
Lip Balms are such an essential part of lip care that I could never be mad at getting one in my subscription bags.
Portland’s Bee Balm is a hand made lip balm made with organic cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil and organic California extra virgin olive oil and infused with Oregon peppermint essential oil.
The formula is very soft and smooth when applied to the lips and then there’s the refreshing peppermint smell that you get a whiff of every so often.
Cost – $2.99
Appeal Cosmetics – Luxurious Lipstick ‘Baby, My Doll’
Appeal Cosmetics, like Hikart and Portland Bee Balm, are new brands that I haven’t tried before and I was quite impressed with the packaging of this one.
It came in a nicely packaged black and white lipstick box with the brand’s name in bold, white print that can’t be missed.
When removed from the package, it reveals this luxurious looking lipstick tube with the actual shade of the lipstick on the bottom.
Like the name, it is definitely a more light, baby doll pink lipstick, lighter than what I usually wear.
We can all agree that it’s a bit too late in the season to be wearing pink lipstick but then again, there are no rules when it comes to makeup so we can rock whichever shade we want in whatever season.
As you can see from the swatch, the shade was not as pigmented for my skin tone. The undertone was just a little bit too cool.
Though I always live for a good pink lipstick, this one from Appeal Cosmetics was not the most attractive on my complexion. The formula however, felt buttery soft and moisturizing.
Cost – $29.01
Total cost of this month’s bag – $64
