Fuchsia lipsticks have been one of my signature lip shade for 2014 and will definitely be on my holy grail list for this year. Fuchsia is like a purple-ish, pink-ish color that is universally flattering on women of every color. If you’re thinking about giving bold colored lipsticks a try and not sure which shade to start with then a purple-ish shade is definitely the way to go.
To achieve this look I applied Milani’s Fuchsia Lip Liner to line and fill my lips. I always use a lip liner when wearing lipsticks because not only does the lip liner act as a guide so that my lipstick doesn’t go outside of the ‘lip zone’ but it also helps with keeping your lipstick vibrant throughout the day. The lipstick I used is Flat Out Fabulous by MAC. It’s a retro matte shade and it lasts all day long.
You should always apply some chap stick or lip balm before you apply your lipstick because matte lipsticks have a very dry finish. If you’re not a fan of matte lipsticks then you might want to search for a more creamier texture that won’t dry out your lips. There was never a need to reapply my lipstick and that’s why this is one of my favorite lipsticks because it will last me for months at a time. Try it out and let me know what you think. Puckers to you xoxo.
If you’re looking for that one lip color to revamp your lipstick collection then Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in shade Napa Vineyard will do the trick. Burgundy colored lipsticks have lately become my new fave and is a shade that I find myself wearing more often to work and even dinner. It is the perfect shade to transition from day to night which is a must have for every woman.
It’s 100% natural and went on very smoothly on my lips. I did prep my lips before with my brown sugar and olive oil mixture and then put a very thin layer of my Carmex Lip Balm to lock in the moisture. This lip crayon stayed on during my entire time at work, even through lunch and some snacks in between. I paid around $9 for the stick but it’s definitely worth it. Try it out and let me know what you think. Puckers to you xoxo.
If you’re looking for an everyday effortless lipstick look then you will love Maybelline’s Pink & Proper lipstick in shade 20. I literally wear this lipstick all the time whether it’s going to the grocery store or making a run on the town to take care of errands. This shade comes in handy for me because it’s not too bold and not too subtle which makes it just right for just about everything.
On those day when you don’t feel like putting layers of makeup on and just wanna let your face and pores breather for a bit – this is the lipstick to turn to during those times. It glides on very smoothly and has a little shimmer finish to it. I always get tons of compliments when I wear this lipstick because it gives me that young and fresh look. It’s also a perfect shade to wear year round and will match almost everything in your wardrobe, which is why I wear it everywhere. Try it out and let me know what you think.
It is still sad, cold and snowing on my side of town and I am definitely looking forward to Spring. With that said, the easiest way to cheer myself up during these winter blues is with a vibrant and fun lipstick. I have for you today NYX’s Summer Breeze Matte Lipstick MLS06 that I picked up at the drugstore. I wore it the next day and I was pretty satisfied with the results. The color went great with my skin complexion and definitely made my lips pop.
before to add moisture to my lips because matte lipsticks have a dry finish and tend to dry out your lips. I do realized, however, that even though I had applied a moisturizing lip balm my lips still got very dry throughout the day and became uncomfortable so I applied my Covergirl moisturizing top coat on top of the lipstick which gave it a little glossy finish which still looked amazing.
I have tried many lip balms and I’m on a quest to find those that actually help to keep my lips from peeling and drying out. Another on my list is the Carmex Lip Balm. This lip balm was able to keep my lips moist in the dead of winter when there was wind chills below twenty degrees, which of course, is the perfect recipe for dry, sore and painful lips. I applied this lip balm to my lips as often as needed and it did get the job done. It applies smoothly and has a minty finish that soothes. I will forever keep this lip balm as part of my stash as long as it exists.
There are times when I’m not looking for a specific lipstick so what I do is pick out a lip liner first and get inspiration from that to choose on a lipstick shade. It’s the same as picking out your shoes first and getting inspiration from your shoes to put the rest of your outfit together. So, recently I was at Wal-Mart and went through the beauty aisle – of course, and the Milani 12 Lip Liner caught my eye. I’ve just started trying out Milani lip products and actually liked them so this was another opportunity for me to try another lip product.
After I got my lip liner I then searched for a fun lipstick shade that I could possiblypair with it and I ended up with Almay 120 with a medium-red shade. I was so excited to put these two lip shades together and was impressed with the results. These two shades had my lips puckering in berrylicious style.
This is one of my favorite lip liners to use when I’m wearing any brown or red shade of lipstick. It glides on smoothly and lasts for a long time to keep your lipstick from bleeding on to your face – that is never a good look ladies. I’m very new to trying Milani products and so far this one is a keeper for me. I used this lip liner a lot during the winter season for my darker lipsticks.
This is my new favorite lip balm. First of all, I love the ease of use because of it’s round shape. Often times, it’s very hard for me to get to the corner of my lips, which is the part that gets the most chapped and dry for me, but this allows me to easily get into those hard to get corners with no problem. It goes on really smooth and keeps my lips moisturized. I usually put this on before I wear any lipstick, especially one of a matte finish so that my lips stay moist all day long.
Another reason why I love this lip balm is because it taste amazing and it’s 95% organic and made with awesome ingredients like jojoba oil and Shea butter which definitely makes my lips happy. Check it out and let me know what you think.
While shopping for a new lip stain, I came across the Cover Girl 24 hour all day Lip Color in shade 538 Wine To Five and decided to give it a try. It’s packaged with two separate pieces, the lip color and a moisturizing topcoat. The instructions on the package stated that you should apply to clean lips so make sure to exfoliate those puckers before applying. Also, you should not rub lips together at least sixty seconds so that the lip color can set.
I have to say that I’m in love with this lip color. I had put it on at noon and around nine that same day the color was still vibrant. The only thing is that it does tend to cause dry lips because of the matte finish but that can be easily fixed with the moisturizing topcoat that came with it. You may need to apply the topcoat several times which can be somewhat of a hassle but nevertheless, it’s nothing I’m not willing to put up with. I also wish that there was more product in the tube. I’ve used it a few times and it seems like it’s already running low, especially for the price they are going for at the drugstores which was around $8.00.
So because the package stated that it lasts for 24 hours, I decided to test it out and went to bed without taking it off. The following morning, to my surprise, it was still intact so with that said, it’s definitely worth giving a try.
There is nothing worse than seeing a woman wearing lipstick on dry, chapped and peeling lips. Wearing lipstick when your lips are in bad shape is always a bad idea because the lipstick, especially if it’s a brightly colored one like red, will only emphasize those flaws. It’s always important to regularly care for your puckers by keeping them hydrated and exfoliated. My current regime for my lip care includes a mixture of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and brown sugar. I rub this on my lips at least four times a week. The brown sugar acts as a scrub and exfoliates while the olive oil locks in the moisture. You can choose to do this as often as you would like to ensure that your lips are smooth and moisturized. So prep those lips and get ready to pucker up.
