Sephora celebrates two years of Play! by Sephora and they compiled some of their best products that were favored by many and those that had cult followings.
Play! by Sephora is a monthly beauty subscription box that costs $10 a month and includes five to six sample sizes of beauty products.
In May 2018 box were six classic products that according to makeup lovers, stood the test of time.
Well you gotta keep on reading if you want to find out what these six classic products are…
To celebrate the two years of Play! by Sephora, this month’s bag was a denim like bag with red and white shoe strings that looked like Christmas candy cane to me. I felt like the red, white and blue were a great choice to celebrate the two year milestone.
Also included was a flyer of all the products that were included in the bag along with a card for 50 Beauty Insider Points that can be redeemed in store or online.
On the flip side was a comic depiction of the beauty journey back then versus now which I thought was pretty cute and fun.
The first thing we’re gonna start off with is Marc Jacob’s Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir. This is on the list as a classic for the instant length and major volume it provides. Get it here
I always love a good mascara because I do not wear false eyelashes so I’m always looking for something that will not only give me volume but length as well.
Then there is the highly talked about Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer that contains SPF 15, minimizes pores, reduces redness and smoothes your skin’s texture. I have to say that this primer does what it says. Get it here
I gave this a test under my foundation and I was impressed with the results.
There was a lot less creasing of my foundation which made it last a lot longer.
Next, there is the Devacurl Supercream Coconut Curl Styler. I’m not a huge hair product person but what would draw me to purchase a hair product even if I don’t need it is the smell. Im always drawn to great smelling products…but who isn’t right? My thoughts exactly!

This literally smells like you’re in coconut heaven! The product also has great slip without it being too watery or too thick.
When it came to the eyes, Kat Von D took the trophy with her waterproof tattoo liner. I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about this eyeliner and was nothing less than excited when I found out that it was included.

I received this in the shade Trooper Black and I have to say it’s very pigmented which I love. The fact that it’s waterproof makes it even better so you don’t have to worry about it coming off from your sweat.
I also love the tattoo needle inspired tip that helps you to create a very defined wing eyeliner.
The skincare product that took the number one spot is the Sephora Collection Mud Mask Purifying and Mattifying with zinc and copper.
Mud masks have never been a part of my skincare routine but I love the smell and the clay like texture of this mask. For some odd reason as well, the smell reminds me of the green Irish Spring soap. Very fresh and forest-like.
It’s also suppose to reduce the appearance of blemishes which we all suffer from, others more frequently than others.
I think this will be great for giving myself a day of facials and skin care detox.
And last but not least is the Chloe Nomade Eau de Parfum which is sweet blend of florals and oakmoss. This is one of the most Spring ready perfumes I’ve ever smelled. Get it here
Being that I’m a recent subscriber to the Sephora beauty box I have to say that I was quite satisfied with this box. There was not one product in there that I have tried before.
Who has been with Sephora for a while? What did you think of this month’s box? Were there any repeats?
Let’s discuss!
XOXO
Wow this box was amazing!! So wish I had kept my subscription for this!
Even though this is my second box I thought it was a very good box. I loved it. Curious to know…why did you cancel?
I cancelled sometime last year. I had two boxes that were not products I use. But I have been wanting to subscribe to a beauty box again just not sure which one!
Oh ok. Well I see your point there. I guess depending on how it goes down the road I’ll decide if it’s still worth keeping or not. I know it’s hard to shop around because there are soooo many beauty boxes out there now!
Yes there is so many and it does not help that a lot of the subscriptions had great boxes this month! Haha
Haha ???? I know right!!!
