For that price, I thought this is my one and only chance to try YSL. I know that $38 is still a bit pricey, but you do get three mini lipsticks for that price, which is normally the price of one full size lipstick.
The mini lip wardrobe gift set is a set that includes three of YSL’s most iconic lipsticks. These are the shades that are favorited by many and they were all packaged into one little gift set for us to try out.
All the lipsticks have that same pinky nude shade but in different finishes. There is a cream finish, a liquid matte finish and one with a bit of a shine.
One thing that I noticed immediately is that the formula felt very luxurious on the lips. They are pigmented and felt richly creamy and smooth.
They all also had a floral fragrance to them so if you are sensitive to smells then you might not like these. It’s not overpowering at all but you really don’t have to try to hard to smell it.
If I could compare these to more affordable lipsticks that I have tried I would say that Flower Beauty, Zara and even Bellapierre lipsticks give me a similar luxurious feel.

This is the liquid matte lipstick from the set that also wore very comfortably. Many matte lipsticks can be drying and uncomfortable but that was not the case with this lipstick.
Rouge Volupté Shine (44)
This lipstick felt more like a cross between a lip balm and a lipstick. It is so creamy with a little bit of shine, but at the same time leaves a very subtle flush of nude pink color on your lips.
This is a great option to wear on those days when you don’t want too much color on your lips but would like to have some moisture and a little bit of shine.
