Lorac Jet Setter Fuchsia Lipstick

“There are endless ways to enhance beauty. You never know when you will find your perfect lipstick unless you keep experimenting.”

– Pat McGrath

Oh Hey There!

Nice to meet you! I’m Shamayne, a Belizean born lipstick enthusiast! I have to admit that I was never into makeup for the most part of my life, partly because it was not something that I was immediately interested in and also because I couldn’t afford it. As a college student at the time, there was not a lot that I could afford which some of you can probably relate to. When you have to choose between makeup and food that one is definitely a no brainer!

Growing up in the Caribbean, makeup was not that popular among people my age. Yes, there was the occasional eyeliner and lip gloss in high school but most of us really did grow up appreciating our natural beauty and celebrating that.

However, when I was a kid I somehow have this image of my mother engraved in my head of her in red lipstick and wearing red nail polish. She always kept a red lipstick on her dresser. Red is her favorite color, by the way, and I, like many little girls, was fascinated by that and I couldn’t wait to grow up to wear a red lip like my mother.

Without even knowing it at the time, that was my first introduction to makeup. To this day, of all the different makeup pieces that you can buy, I’m still mostly drawn to lip products.

With that said, I really don’t wear heavy foundation or false eyelashes. Not that I have anything against that but my go-to look is a light, natural beat and a popping lip gloss or lipstick.

Now Lets Find Out Why I Started This Blog

About four years ago, when I was really starting to explore makeup I was looking for videos and blogs that focused more on just lipsticks since that’s what I was primarily interested in but didn’t find much luck.

So I ventured out to start this blog as a way of teaching myself and track my lipstick collection progress of different brands. I didn’t care if anyone didn’t read my blog or weren’t interested because I was ultimately doing it to help myself but then it turned out that people were interested. They were curious to know how different lip products swatched and wore and that gave me even more motivation to continue doing what I was doing to help others make a purchase decision.

So this blog turned out to be a great resource for women who were just getting into makeup and even those who have been wearing makeup for a very long time and just want to get some feedback on a lip product before committing to a purchase.

What makes My Blog Different From other Beauty Blogs

When you visit my blog you know what you’re getting into and what you’re going to get. It focuses only on lip products so there are no other distractions or makeup products that will get you all confused.

You’ll find lipstick swatches and lipstick reviews from different brands ranging from drugstore to high end. Though I also fancy other makeup products, I always gravitated towards lipsticks first because I love my lips and my smile and I’m always looking for ways to enhance what I feel are my best features.

So if you’re just looking for lipstick inspiration, trying to spruce up your lipstick collection, wanting to see swatches or find out how a lipstick wears then this blog could be a great resource for you.

Perhaps the true philosopher is not the one who ignores his desires, but the one who understands their deeper meaning.

  12. All knowledge, it is said, comes from experience, but does that not mean that the more we experience, the wiser we become? If wisdom is the understanding of life, then should we not chase every experience we can, taste every flavor, walk every path, and embrace every feeling? Perhaps the greatest tragedy is to live cautiously, never fully opening oneself to the richness of being.

What if we are not moving forward but simply circling the same points, like the smoke from a burning fire, curling back onto itself, repeating patterns we fail to recognize? 17. Friendship, some say, is a single soul residing in two bodies, but why limit it to two? What if friendship is more like a great, endless web, where each connection strengthens the whole? Maybe we are not separate beings at all, but parts of one vast consciousness, reaching out through the illusion of individuality to recognize itself in another.

  19. Man is said to seek happiness above all else, but what if true happiness comes only when we stop searching for it? It is like trying to catch the wind with our hands—the harder we try, the more it slips through our fingers. Perhaps happiness is not a destination but a state of allowing, of surrendering to the present and realizing that we already have everything we need.
