As the Fall days continue to get brisk and gloomy, sometimes it makes sense for us to match the mood of the day with our makeup but for many of us, a black lipstick might just be a bit too much and intimidating.
It might seem like a challenge to transition your collection season to season but it’s quite easier than you think. Many of us feel comfortable just sticking to our safe nude colors but breaking out the browns, burgundies and purples are a great way to make a statement.
Though the weather is one thing that is beyond our control, what we do have all power over is how we want our makeup to look…for the most part at least.
Here are six Fall Lipsticks that you can add to your collection.
Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink – Protector
Cost – $9.49; See how it swatches here. Get it at Ulta.
Even though it’s gonna be hard for me to kick my love for matte lipsticks, I do have to say that once it a while it feels very refreshing to swipe on a creamy, moisturizing lipstick that leaves your lips feeling pillowy soft.
I recently discovered Fleshy Lips Lipstick from a newer beauty brand, Flesh Beauty. Flesh Beauty’s Fleshy Lips lipsticks are a set of four sheer, natural looking lipsticks that are geared towards giving you the best version of your lips.
Like many, finding the right shade of nude lipstick is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Pretty much near impossible. At one point they even had us checking out or nipples for the right shade. That’s how serious this nude lipstick situation has become.
The cosmetics industry has come a long way when it comes to perfecting a nude shade that will compliment most skin tones. I’ve created a list of my favorite nude lipsticks that weren’t necessarily perfect but got pretty close.
We all know of those nude lipsticks that make us look like we just walked out the cemetery but the choices from this list did everything but that. Some may need a little bit more tweaking than others with some lip pencils but these worked out great for me.
Looking for that perfect shade of red lipstick that will impress your partner this Valentine’s? Well here’s the scoop on some of my favorite red lipsticks that you can try. They range from different price points so there’s something for everyone.
Red lipstick is no doubt a fashion statement all in itself and it might be a little intimidating at first but it is the one shade that can instantly elevate your sexy factor with little to no effort.
Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway with your beau or a fancy dinner date night, you better not be caught without some sexy red lips. It is an essential part of a perfect Valentine.
Besides, there is no celebrating Valentine without some red lips.
Without further ado, let’s get to it shall we?
Revlon Rich Girl Red
This lipstick was so moisturizing it felt almost like a balm to me. It has a very radiant finish as well which is an added bonus. This will easily create that glamorous look you are going for. This can be found at your local drugstore.
Milani Matte Kiss
This is a darker red and like the name, has a matte finish. It does has a very smooth finish and I would say it’s more of a semi matte finish as it felt like it had a little bit of moisture as I glided it on. The wear time on this was 5 hours for me. Find it at your local drugstore.
Another drugstore brand, this lipstick is creamy with an easy application. Very pigmented and also feels very light on the lips. One application would be enough as it has a very high impact color.
Ruby Woo by MAC
Of course I couldn’t leave this one off the list. Even though I wish it was more moisturizing on the lips, it’s my all time favorite and that’s never gonna change anytime soon.
If you’re thinking that your man is gonna wine and dine you this Valentine and don’t want to be bothered with your lipstick transferring or don’t want to be reapplying your lipstick every so often then this is definitely the lipstick for you. The only thing you would have to reapply is the lip gloss to keep that shine throughout the day. You can never go wrong with this as this is like the Ferrari of lipsticks when it comes to wear time.
With all these options make sure to dress to impress this Valentine’s.
It can be a pretty scary thought when it comes to buying makeup and lipstick only to realize that it wasn’t what you expected to be. Many of us don’t have confidence in cheaper brands just because they usually turn out to be a waste of money. Read More »
I did a review on my last post about Sweet Nectar from Milani’s Color Statement Collection and today I’m reviewing the color Naturally Chic. If you’d like to know what I thought of this color then read on…
Naturally Chic is like a brownish pinkish neutral color that is meant to give you that subtle, natural look. It’s definitely not the color for you if you’re looking for something bright and bold. It’s meant to give you that effortlessly chic look that’s not too over the top. It’s a color that is definitely suitable for the office but will do just as well for cocktail hour at the bar. Get it on Amazon.
When I first opened the cap for this lipstick the first thing that I noticed was the smell. It had the most wonderful smell that was kinda fruity but not overwhelmingly so that it would turn you off.
It also had a very creamy finish and smooth texture that glide on easily. This lipstick was also very moisturizing compared to Sweet Nectar that had a matte finish that dried out the lips and settled on the dry patches. I did not get any of that with Naturally Chic. This lipstick does transfer, however, being that it’s not a matte, dry finish.
Like the rest of the other colors from her collection, Naturally Chic is only six bucks and for that price, it’s definitely worth it! This is gonna permanently have a space in my nudes and natural lipstick collection.

By now most of you already know that I’m a frequent Milani lipstick user and I recently purchased the color Sweet Nectar from Milan’s Color Statement Collection to do a review, and I have to say that it’s popping! Get it on Amazon.
Milani describes it as being a bright orange but on my skin tone it’s more of a true orange, compared to my MAC’s Lady Danger which is like a coral orange with a matte finish. On lighter or fair skin tones it will probably look more like a bright orange.
This orange lipstick went on easily in one easy swipe. It’s a fresh and flirty color that will give all your other summer lipstick shades a run for their money. It’s creamy and very pigmented with a matte like finish. What I noticed throughout the day as my lips got dryer, since the lipstick is not very moisturizing, is that it settled on those dry areas which was kind of annoying. That happened after about 4 hours of wear, though, which to me is a decent time to remove and apply a fresh coat.
Guys, there are a ton of colors in this collection that you’ll be sure to find one that you like. So far I have the shade Naturally Chic, which I’ll do a review on later, and do plan on getting more shades. I always have a hard time choosing without buying everything so I settled for an orange shade just because it’s summer time and wanted a fresh new color to brighten my outfits. For six bucks a piece, I’m sure that you’ll be able to find an amazing color in the collection for yourself. You should check them out.

You guys may have noticed from some of my past posts that I literally live in Milani. Not only is the packaging expensive looking but the quality of the product is great for being a drugstore brand lipstick.
Left to right: Milani Matte Confident 67, Milani Matte Orchid 64 and Milani Matte Diva 63
Milani is also made in the USA so I know that the ingredients are gonna be safe on my lips compared to other brands that are made in a foreign country. I tend to pair the Matte Orchid and the Matte Diva with a lot of bright yellows and greens in my wardrobe. They just make everything pop.

I reserve the Matte Confident for my mostly neutral colors like grey, white, tan and black, but it pairs well with brownish, copper colored clothing as well.
