If you’re a fan of creamy, smooth lip crayons then you will definitely fall in love with NARS’s Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. If you hear people raving about these lip pencils then you have to believe them.
These are not like most lip pencils that are dry and a struggle to apply. These are on another level of lip pencils. That level where you find yourself going back for more.
The set is going for $20 at Sephora but it is totally worth it. It especially makes sense to purchase the set if you’re not too keen on spending a lot of money on a full size product. If you’re more of a liquid lip person, you can also try their Power Matte Liquid lipsticks.
The mini sizes are a great way to sample the product first, that way if you don’t like it you don’t have to worry too much about losing out on money.
These lip pencils are very creamy and lasts a pretty long time without leaving your lips feel moisture deprived and flaky which I’ve experienced with some lip crayons.
Now if you find yourself eating and drinking a lot throughout the day you have to expect that the crayon will transfer, especially if you’re eating oily foods as oil tends to remove makeup, but if you refrain from eating oily foods the lasting power of these pencils are amazing.
I’ve gotten so used to these that it’s so hard for me to switch to something else. As a matte finish, I find it very comfortable to wear, which is shocking I know! The pigmentation is incredible and they have a variety of colors available to meet all your seasonal needs.
The two latest colors that I added to my collection are Intriguing and Train Bleu.
Intriguing is the perfect pinkish nude shade that couldn’t be more appropriate for your everyday nine to five job at the office.
I always love shades like these because they are a necessary part of any woman’s collection. If all else fails you can always depend on a great nude lipstick to save the day.
It swatched very similar to the Dolce Vita shade but a tad bit darker.
Either way it was a win for me.
This shade is more seasonal specific with it’s vampy, oxblood hue but nonetheless, gorgeous. This shade may seem intimidating at first especially if you’re not used to wearing a bold lip but the color pay off is amazing.
It’s also a more Fall and Winter appropriate shade but you can definitely pull it off at anytime of the year.
I was skeptical of this shade at first but ended up falling in love with it. I love a good dark, moody lip that I can sport on a rainy or gloomy day.
As a matter of fact you can sport it any day you like. There are no rules when it comes to make up!
Overall these lipsticks are great to have in your collection. Once you feel the creamy formula on your lips you will never look back.
