The Becca X Chrissy Lip Icing Glow Gloss Kit came out during the holidays and I always wanted to try them but I was a little hesitant about paying full price. If you’ve ever wanted to try them they are now on sale at Sephora for $19 from $29.99.
The set comes with four mini lip glosses as well as a recipe for Cinnamon Buns that Chrissy calls the Becca Boozy Buns Chrissy is well know for her baking so that explains the name of the collection ‘Lip Icing’. It incorporated Chrissy’s love for makeup and baking.
The formula of the glosses are amazing and leaves my lips feeling ultra soft and smooth, however I found that they were just a tad bit too light for my complexion. They could definitely still work by using it with a darker lip liner but it would have been better if I found them to be pigmented straight off the bat.
The only color that stood out right away on me was the reddish, orange color Candy Cane. It’s just a fun, gorgeous color that instantly brightened up my face.
Now let’s get into the swatches:
This color was the lightest shade from the set and really wasn’t that pigmented enough for my skin tone. It also has a beautiful shimmer to it that even though the color is subtle you still get a hint of fun glitter.
Cinnamon Bun was a pretty neutral nude color on me. It was a little darker than Creme Brulee with more of that brown color.
This shade still fell into the neutral nude category but was still darker than the first two shades. I found it to be a gorgeous bronze finish that I could wear on it’s own as opposed to just using it as a lip topper.
Of all the colors Candy Cane was the most pigmented. It’s a gorgeous reddish orange color that just immediately popped on my skin tone.
Overall these lip glosses are great but they did not blow my mind. They do have a thicker consistency but at the same time it does not feel heavy or extremely sticky on the lips.
