The theme for this month’s box is all about celebrating the Sea Sun, as in season, which was the theme for December.
‘TIS THE SEA-SUN
Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription box that features 5 to 6 full size products.
Cost – $21 monthly with free shipping
The combined total of the beauty products in this month’s is $169.
The products included in this month’s box are:
Tarte Glitter Lip Paint – Like Gold
This is a sheer lip gloss with holographic sparkles that smell divine. If you’re not into scented products then this lip gloss will not be for you as it has a very strong vanilla/candy like smell.
It’s a gorgeous shade with a sheer holographic finish that can be worn on it’s own as a lip topper.
The only downside to this lip gloss is that it is really sticky which will make it a miserable day for yourself and your hair. If the stickiness will not bother you then this is an easy and fun way to add a little sparkle to your lips. It would be a great option to wear as a topper over Tarte’s Quick Dry Lip Paint.
This retails for $20.
Bodyography Lip Pencil in Barely There
Lip liner is a beauty essential if you want to extend the wear time of your lipsticks.
This one from Bodyography is a pinky nude color that is soft and creamy when applied. Some lip liners can be very dry and rough to put on but that was not the case with this one.
It was also noted that the lip liner is vegan, cruelty free and infused with hydrating coconut oil.
This retails for $12.
Pretty Vulgar The Powder Room Translucent Setting Powder – Matte About It
Cookies are not the only thing that most of us will be baking this holiday season. When it comes to our makeup, baking is a necessary step to ensure that everything else stays where they are suppose to be. On your face.
The Pretty Vulgar Matte About It Setting Powder is yellow translucent powder with a matte finish that will help to keep your makeup locked.
It comes with a cute little pink puff to help you to apply your powder all over your face. Being that this powder is matte it will be very helpful for those with oily skin to help absorb all that oil and keep you makeup looking fresh longer.
This powder retails for $32.
Cosmedix Detox Activated Charcoal Mask
After all the face baking that will be happening this holiday there is no other way to care for your skin that with a good ole mask. Charcoal masks are great for reviving your skin by removing dirt and excess oil that clogs pores.
I’m not a huge fan of charcoal as I have very dry skin and they tend to dry my skin out even more when I use them so it’s a seldom beauty regime for me.
Charcoal masks are something I use like once or twice a month or depending if my face starts to break out then I will seek the help of one.
This one has a grayish blue color and smells like baby powder to me which I love as a great smelling mask always heightens the experience for me. One of my favorite masks is from Origins Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay.
Cosmedix Detox Activated Charcoal Mask retails for $30.
PYT Mini Hair Straightner
One thing you don’t want to worry about during the busy holiday season is your hair. I was a bit surprised to see a hair straightner in Boxycharm and though I only straighten my hair like once a year I still thought it was pretty cool to have it.
PYT is a brand that is new to me but I do have to admit that it was the cutest hair straightener I have ever seen. I received a bright yellow one with the tiniest plates.
it doesn’t matter who you are, if you’ve ever straightened your hair we can all relate to how difficult it is to get those tiny perimeter hairs with a massive hair straightener.
The. Struggle. Is. Real.
With a much smaller tool like this it makes it easier to get those edges and make straightening a breeze. This is a straightener that I will most definitely keep around to tame those baby hairs.
It has floating ceramic plates and the temperature goes up to a maximum temperature of 400 degrees F.
One of the things that I don’t like is that the temperature is not adjustable so you need to make sure that you have a top of the line heat protectant to make sure that those baby hairs don’t fry.
PYT’s mini hair straightener retails for $75 which I also think is a lot steep for a mini hair straightener.
