Pat McGrath is one of the most well known makeup artist in the world and her makeup is like a prized possession for many.
When Pat McGrath lipsticks became available in minis I jumped at the opportunity and got myself a pack of the Colour Blitz Mini Matte Trance. One of her lipsticks go for $38 so I was shook when I saw that she had minis available for $25. That was definitely a steal for me.
Pat McGrath lipsticks have a reputation of being one of the best lipsticks in the world so I wanted to experience that for myself and there is no better way to do that than with the minis where I get multiple shades to try.
Firstly, I was impressed with the packaging of these lipsticks. Even though I purchased the minis, they were majestically packed with gold sequin like pieces that instantly made it look like it was expensive.
The lipsticks themselves are also nicely packaged with the iconic gold lip design.
These have a smooth powder like texture that I have never experienced with other lipsticks that applies well and has a great colour pay off.
The shade Elson is a beautiful red with a blue undertone that can easily compliment most skin tones. I find this shade of red to be very sexy and comfortable to wear.
It’s very flattering on my lips like my favorite red lipstick, Ruby Woo, but I have to say that Pat McGrath’s formula is a lot more comfortable.
Obsessed is a bright orange red shade that just commands attention from across the room. It reminds me of my M.A.C. Lady Danger.
Full Panic 005
The last shade Full Panic is described as a bright fuchsia. Fuchsia is one of my all time favorite colors to wear just because it doesn’t matter which brand I try they always compliment my skin tone.
It’s just one of those shades that never disappoints me and one shade that I know I can always rely on.
What amazed me about these lipsticks is that the powder like texture dries matte but yet it was not drying on the lips. It had a very comfortable all day wear.
After trying these lipsticks, I do have to say that they are completely worth the $38. You hear about you get what you pay for and that is absolutely true when it comes to these lipsticks.
The formula is one of the softest I’ve felt in a while and it doesn’t settle into the fine lines of my lips as some matte lipsticks do.
- Intense pigment
- Comfortable Powder Matte formula
- Long Lasting
- Full Coverage
- Cost; $38 each but totally worth it
