So I thought I was over the holo lipstick and lip gloss trend until Rihanna dropped her Beach, Please! collection!
This limited edition collection includes three killawatt foil highlighter duos, two island bling liquid eye shimmers and of course the one that got me all shimmered and bothered is her Summer Daze and Summer Nights lip gloss collection.
I swatched all of her lip glosses from this collection so if you’re curious about what Rihanna considers as being all foiled up and beachy then keep on reading….
The Summer Daze and Summer Nights collection is a trio of iridescent lip luminizers that take lip glosses to whole new level.
It literally goes from zero to Rihanna.
The packaging is very vibrant and fun with a shiny finish on the box and does reflect that beachy vibe as well. It also states that you can wear these lip glosses on their own or over matte lipsticks.
The colors in the Summer Daze collection include Single, Ready to Mingle and Bilingual.
Single looks like a minty, sea foam green but it’s actually a sheer enough lipgloss with a little shimmer on my complexion. Ready to Mingle is a more pinkish, purple shade that is gorgeous! Bilingual is a little peachy nude with the shimmer of course. This is also one that I could wear on a day to day basis.
Some of the colors are definitely not your normal day to day lipgloss shades.
They might be a little bit too much for most people but I have to say that my favorites from the Summer Daze trio was Bilingual and Ready to Mingle, but mostly Bilingual which is a more nude, peachy orange shade on my skin tone.
What was also surprising about these lip glosses is that they feel pillowy soft on the lips even after you’ve taken them off!
The Summer Nights trio, like the Summer Daze trio, is also very shimmery and iridescent but to like the extreme!
Snakeskin! Oh Boy! I love that the name is very reflective of the shade but I have to say that this one didn’t rock my boat.
Not that I would never wear it! I could rock it at like a Halloween party where I feel it would be more appropriate for me.
Mermaid Thighs is a pretty blue-ish, pinkish, purple-ish color that also resembles the color of mermaid scales. Again, this one is a little too loud to wear for my normal day to day activities.
Lastly there is my favorite shade from the Summer Nights trio which is Vaycray. I could work it in this shade baby! It’s a nudeish iridescent color on my skin tone that you can’t really tell it’s there. Because it’s not as loud and specific as the other shades I can always layer it on lipsticks.
All in all this collection was vibrant, fun and was definitely made to get you out of your comfort zone. I just don’t think I’m at that level yet where I can comfortably wear some of these shades out in public and feel sexy at the same time.
Like I can’t imagine myself with a little red dress and high heels with snakeskin on my lips.
So who has tried anything from Fenty Beauty’s Beach, Please! collection? What are your thoughts? Let’s talk Beach!
